PIPING SCHOOL'S 25TH ANNIVERSARY - SUMMER SCHOOL

PIPING SCHOOL’S 25TH ANNIVERSARY!

The Western Academy of Pipe Music is set to offer piping and drumming classes at its Summer School to be held on Vancouver Island this year.
The late Pipe Major James Watt founded this long-standing institution twenty-five years ago. His wish was that the Academy would continue to offer tuition to pipers and drummers after he was no longer able to participate.
The Western Academy of Pipe Music, under the direction of James Barrie, will again offer piping and drumming classes at a Summer School to be held in Duncan on Vancouver Island. The same first-class instruction will be offered to both pipers and drummers at all levels of playing ability.
James Barrie is a well-respected bagpipe teacher and has taught at this and several other piping schools. He is sought after as an adjudicator, and offers instructional seminars and workshops in piobaireachd as well as light music.
In cooperation with Kathy White, classes will be at Queen Margaret’s School. Limited accommodation is available at Queen Margaret’s and anyone interested should make early arrangements.

KATHY WHITE CONTINUES A TRADITION OF HIGHLAND DANCE

Kathy White will again offer Highland Dance classes at her Summer School in Duncan BC. Kathy has taught highland dancing for twenty-six years. Her students have competed successfully throughout the Northwest as well as in Scotland.
Classes this year will be conducted on a similar basis to previous years. The same high standard of food and accommodation is being offered. Facilities include swimming pool, running track, and other social activities.
Early inquiries are welcomed. If you need further information, we would be happy to hear from you.
